GANG OF YOUTHS ANNOUNCE ‘A MORE PERFECT UNION’ – A CURATED FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE

Just months away from the kick-off of their record-breaking ‘Say Yes To Life’ Tour, Sydney’s Gang Of Youths are excited to announce that they are launching their very own festival, A More Perfect Union.

The inaugural A More Perfect Union will take place at Brisbane’s spectacular Riverstage on Saturday24th November, featuring Gang Of YouthsJack RiverLuca BrasiThelma Plum and Charlie Collins. Tickets will go on sale to the general public tomorrow, Thursday 9th August at 11AM AEST.

Gang Of Youths on ‘A More Perfect Union’:

“A More Perfect Union is something we have been excited about doing for a while now. Bringing a festival to Australia that we can grow into something incredible for people. This is the first of hopefully many, and we have asked some friends we really respect to join us. We are constantly surprised by, and are very grateful for the way Australia has treated us and we hope people in Brisbane can come along and enjoy the show.”

Joining Gang Of Youths for the very special show will be Australian singer-songwriter Jack River. Effortlessly slipping in between the genres of indie rock, psychedelic electro and folk-pop and straight off the back of a hugely successful set at Splendour In The GrassRiver will be performing tracks from her debut album SUGAR MOUNTAIN

Also joining the line up are Tasmanian punk rockers, Luca Brasi. The band claimed the highest local debut on the ARIA 2018 Album Charts, with their latest record STAY landing at #10. Described by triple j Unearthed’s Dave Ruby Howe as “an incredible force live and on record,”, Luca Brasi will be playing their latest work at Brisbane’s Riverstage.

NIMA and triple j Unearthed award-winning songwriter, Thelma Plum will be performing at the special Brisbane event. The Gamilaraay musician’s sophisticated folk pop music landed her as the main support for San Cisco’s sold-out tour in 2017, following her own national tour in the year prior. Thelma has recently released her latest track “Clumsy Love”, which has received high praise from the likes of Pedestrian TV and Vice’s Noisey.

Supporting Gang Of Youth’s on the remainder of the tour, Charlie Collins will also be joining them for ‘A More Perfect Union’. Her debut single “Wish You Were Here” has achieved great amounts of support from media including triple j and FBi Radio. Growing up in Tamworth, Collins was raised on a record collection of storytelling, and from the young age of 11 was pushing her way onto the stage of the local pub. Now returning to her roots of authentic songwriting, Collins will be performing live as a solo artist.

Gang Of Youths has partnered with PLUS1 so that $1 from every ticket will go to support the Aboriginal Legal Service and its work providing culturally appropriate legal services, influencing positive change, and increasing access to justice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.

Be sure to catch Gang Of Youths live in Brisbane and on their national “Say Yes To Life” tour this November!
