TOP 5 AUSSIE SINGER SONGWRITERS TO KEEP AN EYE ON
Hannah Cameron – I first saw Hannah in 2021 opening up for another artist and I found her performance very inspiring! Her songwriting, voice, and guitar playing are all so impressive. Her album Holding Patterns is a must listen!
Hayden Calnin – I recently discovered Haydens’ music while I was listening to music with my friend Mikey Haydon (Nashville based drummer). I’ve fallen in love with his song Warm With You. There is so much space in this track and I love the imagery.
Clio Renner – I always find something fresh in her songs, rhythmically, harmonically. Specifically her album Nothing Breaks Nothing Mends is a stand out but I also love her latest release Don’t Hurry The Dance.
Harrison Storm – A Melbourne based singer songwriter who got his start busking on the streets of the CBD and is now playing stages all over the world. His music is so vulnerable and honest, I find it really inspiring.
Woodlock – (they’re technically New Zealand born but I think are based in Australia now?) I’ve really been loving their song I Loved You Then (And I Love You Still). Similar to the Hayden Calnin track in the use of space. I also find the sentiment of the lyrics so relatable. It tears me up!
