Ezra Collective, Freddie Gibbs, Kokoroko and Sampa the Great headline the inaugural festival on Saturday 3 October
SYDNEY, Australia: Carriageworks and Astral People will present the inaugural Move My Way on Saturday 3 October 2026, a one-day festival celebrating jazz, soul and hip-hop. It brings artists and audiences together through rhythm, connection and a shared love of forward-thinking music.
Eclectic and immersive, Move My Way traces the evolution of contemporary sounds on the dancefloor. It spotlights artists pushing the boundaries of jazz, rap, Afrobeat and global club culture.
The inaugural lineup is headlined by Mercury Prize-winning jazz-funk collective Ezra Collective (UK), Grammy-nominated rapper Freddie Gibbs (USA), acclaimed Afrobeat seven-piece Kokoroko (UK) and ARIA Award-winning Sampa the Great (AUS). They are joined by a curated selection of local and international artists, including GENA (Liv.e and Karriem Riggins) (USA), Qendresa (UK), Luke Una (UK), Takuya Nakamura (Japan), Coco Maria (Mexico), Jamz Supernova (UK), Tash LC (UK), Xmunashe (AUS), Miles Nautu (AUS) and Mazzacles (AUS).
The festival runs across three spaces at Carriageworks: the “Over Here” stage, the “Over There” stage and Planet Trip. The “Over Here” stage hosts the main performances, with Kokoroko at 5:55pm, Sampa the Great at 7:15pm, Freddie Gibbs at 8:30pm and Ezra Collective closing at 9:50pm. The “Over There” stage runs a full day of DJ and live sets, culminating in Luke Una from 9:15pm. Planet Trip features Mike Who & Lauren Hansom, Lu Faria & Sista Cini, Foxy Fuzz, and a closing set from Ritual b2b Setwun. The yuth audio program Kenfo will also feature between sets on the “Over Here” stage.
Tickets are on sale from 12pm on May 20.
