LISTEN TO ‘SAFE TO STAY’, ADELAIDE DUO TOWNS’ NEW SINGLE

If you haven’t yet heard Adelaide duo TOWNS’ single, ‘Safe To Stay’, read on, you’re in for a treat. The track is accompanied by a 90s inspired music video which premiered via triple j Unearthed, clocking up over 20,000 views in the first day alone. ‘Safe To Stay’ was released before the band took off on a national tour in support of Sydney rockers Dear Seattle.

The wholesome two-piece recorded the track in their home studio with Mario Spate, with mixing by Jon Grace at Home Surgery Recordings and mastering by Samuel K Sproull.

“Safe to Stay is a song about being oblivious to change until it’s too late to actively take it all on,” drummer Dan Steinert says. “It’s about taking the time to reflect on the world around you and changing as it changes too. The world around us can often shape who we are and what we believe in. I guess Safe to Stay is just a gentle reminder to everyone, that change is inevitable but coming to terms with it is the first step to growing.”

Adelaide’s most wholesome and lovable duo TOWNS have been kicking goals on the local circuit, and with a slew of killer singles in tow, are set for a ripper year.

2018 saw the release of the pair’s debut EP ‘Television’, which swept listeners off their feet from the first spin with its unique blend of 90s pop rock and Australiana. TOWNS also delivered their good-time vibes on the live side of things throughout the year, signing with 123 Agency and landing themselves on lineups with the likes of Turnover (USA), Turnstile (USA), Dear Seattle, Die Die Die (NZ), Verge Collection, and The Pretty Littles.

This year, TOWNS are gearing up for a dynamite few months with the release of their next single ‘Safe To Stay’, hinting at an extended release, and embarking on a national tour in support of one of Sydney’s most exciting acts, Dear Seattle.
