Tasty, Haunting New Single from Leanne Tennant, “Cherry Cola”

Singer-songwriter Leanne Tennant has released her new single, “Cherry Cola”. A first glimpse at her brand new album, to be released later this year, the single reflects a fresh and exciting new direction for the singer. Recently awarded the prestigious Carol Lloyd Award, Tennant is only building the hype with each new offering.

Produced by Konstantin Kersting, (Mallrat, The Belligerents, Tia Gostelow), the dark, addictive rhythm of “Cherry Cola” evokes an intoxicating sense of longing, while Tennant’s trademark haunting vocals set the stage for the incredible body of work to come.

“This song was the first track written for the album,” said Tennant. “Before I even knew it, I was making another album. The song is about loving someone, yet missing them, and feeling lonely, all at the same time”.

Since releasing her first record in 2015 (PULL UP YOUR BRITCHES), Leanne Tennant has gained rapid momentum and numerous awards, including nominations for Australian Artist of the Year (AU Review), winning two Queensland Music Awards, and the Grant McLennan Fellowship. Her alternative blues style has earned her official rotation on Double J, and she was also played on BBC Radio (UK). Her live performances have also received accolades, from The Sydney Morning Herald, The Courier Mail and Rolling Stone, who described her vocals as “commandingly haunting”.
