Violent Soho Announce Return Australian Headline Tour

Legendary Australian rock band Violent Soho are thrilled to announce their official return to the live stage after a four-year hiatus, with an exclusive run of three headline shows across the Australian east coast this September.

The tour announcement follows the 10-year anniversary of acclaimed album WACO, celebrated with a limited-edition vinyl pressing. Last month, members James Tidswell and Luke Boerdam also joined Blink 182’s Mark Hoppus on stage at the Sydney Opera House, which had fans speculating a potential return.

Presented by triple j, Violent Soho will kick off their tour at Enmore Theatre in Sydney on Friday, 11 September, heading to Melbourne on Friday, 18 September to play at the Forum, before finishing off with a hometown show in Brisbane on Friday, 25 September at Fortitude Music Hall. Joining Violent Soho on all three dates will be Brisbane rock band Beddy Rays, with Teenage Joans opening in Sydney and Secret World in Melbourne.

The band recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of their iconic fourth album WACO, celebrating with the announce of a limited-edition vinyl pressing. The record will be pressed on two limited edition formats – Standard LP (Clear/Red Splatter) and a Deluxe 2LP (Clear/Red Splatter and Clear/Black Splatter). The Deluxe 2LP features never-before-heard B-sides, live recordings from their mythological sets at Splendour in the Grass in 2016 and 2022, their epic Christmas shows at Mansfield Tavern, plus their iconic Like A Version of Silversun Pickups’ ‘Lazy Eye’.

Formed in 2004 in the Brisbane suburb of Mansfield, Violent Soho quickly established themselves as one of the greatest live acts in Australia. An intrinsic part of the fabric of the Australian music scene, the band built a community of like-minded music lovers, achieved ARIA #1 accreditations and awards and sold-out adrenaline-packed headline shows.

Across their nearly 20-year career the band won two ARIA Awards for ‘Best Rock Album’ and ‘Best Group’, an AIR Award for ‘Best Hard Rock, Metal or Punk Album’ and achieved multiple Double Platinum, Platinum and Gold singles, and placed #40 for Covered in Chrome in the triple j Hottest 100 of all time. Their last two albums (Everything Is A-OK and WACO) debuted at #1 on the ARIA Charts with the 10th Anniversary vinyl repressing of Hungry Ghost released in 2023, garnering a #1 Australian Album on the ARIA Charts, cementing its lasting impact.

After working tirelessly for nearly two decades, in 2022 the band announced an indefinite hiatus. Four years later, Violent Soho return to the live stage to deliver their euphoric, high-energy, hard and loud shows once again.

‘HELL F**K YEAH!’
