SEVSONS are a band who have been paving their own way to notoriety within Sydney’s alt-rock circles. With blistering live shows alongside some of the country’s best including Closure in Moscow,Circles and Caligula’s Horse, the four piece have elevated from buzz act to a formidable band with a lengthy career already in motion. Preparing to be back on east coast stages as support to Dead Letter Circus, SEVSONS have worked up a storm of a new single with ‘EVOLUTION’.
Continuing to blend catchy riffs with melodies that captivate from the onset, ‘Evolution’ is a beast of a new track; lead singer Rhys’s vocals have the same impassioned delivery fans of Karnivool and Gyroscope love, stretching in range and achieving some great highs as that chorus reaches its apex. Here are their five favourite things about Sydney’s West
1 – Parramatta when the Western Sydney Wanderers are playing at home. There’s such an atmosphere through the streets, with so many different people from different backgrounds all combining in support of their local football team, awesome stuff.
2 – The high quality and huge range of snack packs available. Everyone is well aware of how bad the ol’ snack pack is for us, but that’s not gonna stop you from smashing one down.
3 – There’s enough space around to make some fairly significant noise, which comes in handy when you’re trying to practice late at night. I couldn’t imagine we’d get away with being so loud if we were tucked in somewhere closer to the city, no way!
4 – If you grew up in the West, you’ve got some pretty outlandish stories of life as a teenager. Let’s just say it can be very character building, as a lot of us got up to some serious mischief as teenagers…
